I visited the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery several times to view Helen Britton’s exhibition Interstices, which was on display February-April this year. The exhibition showcased works of jewellery and objects from 25 years of her artistic practice, which consumed three areas of the gallery. Helen studied in Perth and now lives and works in Munich, Germany. Her work was amazing to say the least. I have always admired Helen’s works and it was fantastic to see such a large array of pieces in Perth! The exhibition featured jewellery, objects, photos of her working in the studio, visual diaries, videos and large scale drawings. I was very fortunate to meet Helen and have her sign a catalogue.
